EHail can mean nothing more than a street hail
« on: October 09, 2017, 04:48:16 PM »
The definition of the street-hail does not confined it to putting up ones arm , the definition of street hail is the hailing of a vehicle on or from the street by any means. If it does not include the E-HAIL as a street hail, it has taken away an aspect of our exclusive. They do not have that right of infringement which is a huge mandate to survive.

Yes this is true and everyone knows it. The problem is getting those who know it and are denying it to admit to it and then enforcing it!

We get e hails now via curb. It is a street hail. The TLC is using this e hail as an excuse to give uber the medallion rights. A whole industry has been destroyed using a flimsy excuse. The uber virtual meter is a joke. The city council can't help us now. Too little too late. I like many other owner drivers lost my retirement asset.

Is the electronic hail a street hail ? A taxi and black car have different patterns , taxis zip around , move from one place to another , Uber cars do so as well in if a different momentum,  the major difference is that taxis react to hand waving and Uber reacts to electronic signal , both are signals, the difference being that one is private and one is public.
Does the exclusive of street hailing apply to private as well, there wasnít any exception in the law for this,
If taxis owners had thought , private taxi services would be allowed we would have never bought , It was a conceivable notion even back then, to have companies like GM or Ford who populated companies like Hertz, to have populated private taxi fleets.
Clearly this shows that Uber is another taxi company with the only difference being it is private,

People like waiting outside for an Uber, itís more or less a guarantee of a car rather than maybe with a cab , so they press their button and enjoy the wait, itís relaxing and a new style, a street style , and non the less a street-hail , which means they are using our rights . The same as being on our land.
You canít have a prearrangement to hail , if you do then itís a private hail but still a street hail , just because itís private doesnít mean itís not a street hail.
