A relative came to visit a while ago and asked why the medallion going down , I said sentiment , he basically laugh. He thought I was making an excuse. Owning a medallion and having an exclusive was wrong!!!. Well is was sentiment , sentiment for taxis is rising and so will the value of the medallion.
The law is this when it comes to FHV, taxis are the backbone, black cars are the upscale.  the black cars cannot outdo the taxi bc taxis are the backbone,
The city is the blame for the poor regulations that caused the cabs to have a bad reputation. If the regs were modern and blended into society, there would be little use any luxury vehicles.

�Dear Commissioner , why would you allow a category of "high volume vehicles" when the city is being congested and everyone has to pay more. The very name is something you don't want.

Dear Commissioner , In an industry where there are direct competitors, taxis against Ubers and Lyfts, the competitor who has variable pricing time will always win.  Ubers and lyfts can change rates at any time. Taxis will always be the underdog with no hope except to beg the city for relief. Competitors must have the same pricing ability to compete fairly,
