Cap at 125 or 250
« on: February 13, 2021, 11:22:12 AM »
The 125 number is too low for lenders who want to make a buck, 250 is a more likely number for them to get onboard.  as an owner driver pays off his loan heíll have a small nestegg for his hard work.
As to owners who are in debt the higher amount pays off more of the debt if a lender refuses to participate

As a driver advocacy group the NYCTWA  places drivers first, thatís perfectly ok , the lower cap price they believe will translate into a lower lease rate. But the city regulates leasing and the lease amount. So lease amounts will be based on business , benefitting drivers and owners equally.

What if you need to finance a car, then the cap is actually 30k less than 125 or 250?  a lender might not lend to a car if itís not guaranteed , so the value of the medallion is even lower
